I started in accounting software, which is the best place to learn that a program is a promise about numbers other people will be held to.

How I work

Small pieces, written down before they are written. A project usually starts as a page like this one: what it is for, what it refuses to do, and what would make it a failure.

Elsewhere

This page exists in the preview to prove a point about the navigation: it sits directly under content/, in no section at all, and the theme still finds it, because the top nav reads the site’s own page catalogue rather than a menu somebody has to remember to update.
